Press and FAQ's

So, a lot of you may wonder why Rezidudes haven't done interviews in quite a few years.
There are a few good reasons and some bad ones. We mainly stopped cause we're tired of getting exploited by the press. Of course there are plenty of good fanzines, but many more f'ed up ones, and it became harder to tell which ones were interested in the band and which ones were interested in selling issues or selling our interviews to bigger mainstream magazines (which happened a lot in Europe). In too many cases, we felt that we were being used. Too many interviewers misquote us, or just fill in answers that they think better represented or misrepresented us.

These are all things that every band has to deal with.
It's all part of the marketing game. so we decided to take ourselves out. We don't want the exposure. We have a great fanbase, and we really don't need it to get any bigger. We're happy with how many records we sell, and with how popular we are. We don't need to get any bigger, (in our minds we're huge) and we don't need to be used by the press, just as we don't need radio or tv.
We'll just keep playin' live and makin' records and hangin' out. We do interviews occasionally with small zines, but for the most part we keep our private lives, parts and opinions private.

Now for the bad reasons. After doing 2 or 3 interviews over the past 4 years it gets pretty F'in old. Not to mention that people ask the same questions over and over again. I don't wanna spend my whole evening under interrogation. I love to talk to people, but I don't like being the only one talking, and i don't wanna talk about the same subject every night: Jimmy this or Jimmy that. Yeah he's a great guitar player but B.F.D.!  The rhythm section needs love also. So, we came up with a plan for our fans that wanna know stuff about us. Here it goes:

You send in questions and we'll answer them.
These answers will stay up forever, so we won't have to answer the same ones over and over again. It sounds simple, but it should work. What ever happens, someone's gonna get pissed and someone's gonna get stoked
and someone's gonna get bored. Oh yeah, don't ask lame shit, it probably won't get answered.

Hey whatsup Rezidudes?? First, I want to tell you guys that you freaking rock. On the "Don't touch my shit tour"  a few years back, at Cooter la Vista, you sang a song about that thing. Has it ever been on a CD.

We're saving that song for special occasions. It's wierd cuz we really like playing that song live, but I don't wanna record it cuz we  change the lyrics and the music all the time. It's a constant work in progress. If we played it in 2004 it looks like we might do it again sometime, we will probably record the song and push it to radio. Gotta do the right thing.  We are the Voice of the people.

An online dictionary I had defines punk rock as rock music with deliberately offensive lyrics expressing anger or social alienation. Being punk rockers yourself, how would you guys define punk rock?

Punk rock is starting a band with some friends & not caring how great anybody is but just having a good time with people you like. I think in punk, liking the people you play with is more important than how good they are.  Then your other friends that are not in the band come to your show and actually like you even though you totally suck! It's about having fun.

Are you guys going to put guitar and bass tablatures up on your page?

Naw, We can't even remember how to play half our songs, let alone write them out. The Rez.

Everything you guys do is a ripoff! From your music, to this webpage and even your logo. Why don't you guys practice more and write your own material insted of doing covers of covers of covers! Your whole band and your life is a Sham! As an artist I hate people like you and what you represent. You guys suck! Get a life.

Well, 1). That's nit picking isn't it?  Clearly your deserve every ounce of Suck we can muster up! You need to start your own band so we can steal some of your shit also.  2). Please refer to the second question above.  3). We need to get a life??

We love coming to see Jimmy and you guys play.  I love watching Jimmy. My Mom says he's a wicked good guitar player and my Dad thinks he's cool. I just think he's dreamy!  I was wondering if we might be able to hire Jimmy without the rest of the band. I mean I don't want to step on any toes but I just think my guests would enjoy the evening more without the entire band. Please let me know.         Thank you. A.

Let me tell you Audrey.  Now is not the best time to be posting more Jimmy questions. He can't answer your questions because he is out on tour for the next month with that other band he plays in Meliah something.... Do you know what its like for us Audrey, sitting here festering just knowing he is out with that other band. We know he was seeing them over the summer.  We could smell it on him when he would show up late for practice.  Some nights he would come in just reeking of metal.  All this and now you want him to do little solo gigs for you.  Thats how it all starts Audrey.  George Michael goes solo, where's Wham?  Boy George, Where's Culture Club?  How do you think No Doubt is doing now?  So if you think Jimmy is gonna go the way of Furgie  it ain't gonna happen. It's The Rezidudes or nothing.  And that metal band thing is just a phase. He'll get over it.  He said they didn't mean anything to him and he was drunk last time they played together so..... Best start thinking Jimbo is dreamy also.
